Certainly seems like the story of Peggy Entwhistle to me.

I think you are right about 'Mary'. I can't find any reference to her via google. Dory Previn would have the answer.

If you haven't heard her music, please do, she is very under exposed and is really excellent.

I'll certainly look her up this weekend, there's never enough good music.
