great timing for this, fall colors starting and all. also see www.coveredbridgefestival.org for ashtabula county, ohio's 16 covered bridges of the Howe truss, Pruitt truss, Town lattice truss and inverted Haupt truss styles and the Austinburg bridge which is half covered and half steel.
and there definitely be wildlife around covered bridges, too. eagles. hawks and herons, the occasional brown or black bear, along with the salmon, trout and walleye fishing.
