Isn't it strange the notions you get when you're a child. My winning strategy at the age of 8 was to buy all the utilities and railway stations first. My reasoning? After watching too many Bond films and bad cartoons, I firmly believed that the only way to bring the other players to their knees was to have sole control of all the power stations and transport networks. Ha, that would put a stranglehold on the rest of the board game, they'd have to give up.
If only it had been real life, my strategy may have worked. I always lost
