a) UIN is Universal Identification Number
And currently, AOL/Mirabilis only uses the term ICQ number, not UIN anymore.
b) URL is Uniform Resource Locator
c) IRC isn't a predecessor to ICQ, it is something completely different. Actually, they are opposites, that can perform some functions their counter-part supports (whereas IRC is older).

Tobias is right. I am also suprised that this entry doesn't discuss (and critisize) the way the official ICQ software is becoming more bloated for each new version released.
The latest version, ICQ 2000, has a very messy interface with a lot of buttons to a heap of less interesting features. I mean, I'm interested in my friends, not in the software itself. The buttons also tends to make new users confused and no one really likes these buttons.
(I'm using 99b... won't ever upgrade.)

And the ad banner shown under the message dialog makes it even worse.
