My dad made a globe out of papier machée on a chicken wire frame and covered in plaster, it was about 3 feet in diameter. When I was a younster it used to live in my bedroom and every now and again we'd paint flags on the relevant territories some of the smaller ones (Luxembourg, Andorra, Liechtenstein and the like) were a bit tricky to fit in. Most countries had their flags as well as all the states of the USA, it was quite a work of art. Unfortunately the plaster tended to flake off when it was knocked and eventually it was consigned to the loft of the garage. It only went to the tip after it had fallen out of the garage loft and onto the bonnet of my dad's car!
