A Conversation for The Deckchair
My first hospital trip...

When I was about 5 years old we had a bunch of relatives visiting from afar and we were entertaining them in the back garden. Deck chairs were scattered about and I had fun changing seats and swinging my legs which weer too short ot reach the ground. The deck chairs were a great novlety to me. Then in a moment of childlike exuberance I gave an extra hard swing and the deckchari collapsed and closed totally with my finger jammed between two of the struts.
There were tears and shouts... and I wasn't too happy either. My dad took me to the hospital and so I was introduced to the charms of the British A and E department.
