A Conversation for Evil and the Christian God

Actually several comments have already stated the obvious answer. If there is a God and He created everything, then He created evil.

"What for?", I hear you ask. Well I don't know I'm not God. There is a saying "out of every setback comes an equal or greater opportunity". Apart from losing loved ones, every challenge we have CAN, if we are strong enough to work at it, be of great benefit to us. Someone described evil as simply lesser good in the same way that shadow is simply lesser light. If we accept that for now, then evil, bad and merely annoying are all points on an infinite scale of less good.

Also, again per several comments, if God made everything and before that (allowing a laxity on the subject of the creation of time) there was nothing, what did He make it all from? The only thing in existance was God so therefore we are all made out of God. Every bit of us.

To quote one Jim Pooley "Wotchamate God"

Okay, I know, I've started lecturing again.

evil can be good, but not every cloud has a silver lining. The little orphan girl of ten who gets raped and killed is unlikely to react well to being told to look on the bright side...

In the light of current events, you would appear to be absolutely right. I obviously am appalled by anything like that, and yet once you get into the area of Karma and previous lives etc. then there must be a reason things why like this happen.

I have three children, so I am speaking (writing) in the clear knowledge that one day I could have to deal with something like this myself.

In the Western world Karma tends to be considered extremely strange and unimportant and yet probably two thirds of the worlds's population consider it inseperable from life itself.
