Um. Surely a major reason for visiting Bruges would be the beer?

They do have a local beer or two - Straffe Hendrik is the best known - but it's not the best place to go in Belgium for beer - you'd be better off in Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent.

bruges sounds more like a cultural centrend a capital of tourism and ommerce
