Hi there,
I can realy recommand the trip to the Rain Forest (Cannopie Walk) and to Cape Coast (Slave Castle). It is realy impressing. If you do it as a one day trip from Accra try to go early in order to aviod the trafic jam in and outbound accra.
I recently (Mid May 2000) made an other very nice 1 day trip from Accra to the north east: Up to lake volta (visit the man made dam), have a cool beer at the Hotel Volta (nice view) on the way back visit the botanic garden at Aburi (big trees, nice restaurant). The way from Lake Volta to Aburi it very interresting - small villages, markets... like the time stopped 100 years ago...
On the way back from Aburi to Accra you will pass a handicraft market like the one in Accra - but cheaper. And you can see how they build all the things...
Anybody knows other nice 1-2 day trips from Accra?
