and talking abt radiation, GonePostal, dont u think it is remotely possible that it does not necessarily have to radiate if it is nuclear? As in, we do not know well enough..we are talking of an extraterrestrial meteorite arent we?

Correct me if wrong, but how could a non-radiating thing be nuclear? ::shrugs:: I think nuclear energy is somewhat too inefficient for space travel, anyways.

cold fussion could produce the same power as a nuclear explosion without the radiation downside.
