"There was an old lady who lived in shoe , she had so many children she didnt know what to do , she fed some of them broth and some of them bread , then she whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed .."
When I read this to my three year old daughter , I was suprised to see that she " whipped them all soundly " do you reckon this means as it suggests - If it is it quite a cruel nursery rhyme - esspecially in this modern world ... If anyone knows please reply ....thanks
