A Conversation for Cat Food

Cats who aren't normal

Don't worry Princess. I've found that it's not a case us "getting a cat" but rather a cat "getting us". I've never gone out of my way to look for a pet - they sort of land on, turn up or find me! My hubby reckons that I have a "game for a tin" sign over my head or secreted about the garden somewhere!

A feline friend will find his/her way to you when they're ready - not you! smiley - smiley

The allergy thing, so I heard on the radio last week, is actually a result of cats washing themselves and then shedding their fur. I don't know how accurate this is though. I would think that vacuuming every day and doing away with carpets in favour of boards would be bound to help (although it may be cold on the feet at times). smiley - smiley

Thank you for the encouragement, Gwennie... I'm sure when the time is right a cat will find us, and then I'll be ecstatically happy. smiley - smiley

What a nice proverb! Except sometimes strange cats have strange diseases.

yes...

Actually, there are 2 ways of being allergic to cats. One is being allergic to the hair. The other involves being allergic to the siliva(sp?). I'm allergic to both, which pretty much eliminates controlling it. If is was just hair I maybe could vacum, but when they sit on my lap I start itching.

smiley - smiley yes.

Princess, we've just run into eachother in 3 forums and been trading messages. And I finally noticed. Oh yes, I'm awake. But not only am I allergic to cats, I'm also allergic to everything else that lives(flowers, trees, mould, you name it). And it's spring, so I really feel like i"m being beaten down by the flowers. I can't stop sneezing.

Yup! I notice that even though there are lots of researchers, I only run into about ten in my postings. I think it depends on interests or something...

Poor Penguin Girl. Allergic to the world (hopefully not penguins). I hope spring treats you a little better. smiley - smiley

Thanks for the sympathysmiley - smiley. Well the funny thing is that it's been so rainy that my allergies haven't really kicked in 'itl now, which is something to be thankful for. I don't think I'm allergic to penguins. I'm also not allergic to rodents. I should get another hampster. They're cute and wuzziful, but keeping the cats away is a bitch.

I also only run into a set number of people - about 30 or so. I like to go post on random homepages though, just to meet new people. I recently found someone who shares my birthday.

How fun! I should try to do that random posting thing. Good idea. Well I'm glad that you're not allergic to penguins. That would be very sad.
I've also tried to read most of the approved guide entries that look interesting. That's been fun.

Yes Greebo, you don't need to change. Although provoking interesting reactions can be fun...

I usually read new entries when someone mentions them(i'm on the ML, so I hear more about it) and also search for stuff I'm interested in. I don't try to read it all.

There was just a catfight outside, it was cool. There was a real struggle, I hope no-one got hurt. Plenty of the "meiow!!!!!!!!!!!" part!

Cats usually manage to sort things out with more hissing and spitting than blows, Katsy. I expect the moggies concerned are fine. smiley - smiley

*Meanwhile grapples with Greebo who is trying to reclaim her doughnut*

On the other hand...... smiley - winkeye

C'mon Greebs! Give it up! Share and enjoy, etc! smiley - smiley

Oh dear, this isn't good. *Katsy steps in as referee*

Right, give me the doughnut, I'll toss it up in the air and the first person to catch it gets to do what they like with it!

*Gwennie relinquishes said doughnut politely to allow Katsy to "toss the doughnut" only to see Greebo make her escape with it*

Hey! That's not fair! Come back!

*Runs off in hot pursuit of Greebo*
