You forgot to mention that we have the highest number of artists per head of capitia of any Australian city. This is thanks mainly to the relativily low cost of living, the fact that we are a large coastal city, with great beach and night life. We dont have olympic games to push our cost of living up, and we have one of the best teritary education systems anywhere in the world (the largest employment sector in newcastle is education, thanks to Newcastle Uni and the Hunter Institute of Technology (TAFE). We have a community that breeds artists and other talented performers (look at Bootmen). So that is why newcastle needs to be thought of as one of the great australian cities, as well as everything else in the guide.
