Another post war comedy starring Alec Guiness. As a young chemical engineer just out of college, I worked for Dupont, whose claim to fame was largely based on the invention of nylon, the first practical synthetic fiber. This movie was hugely popular with their engineers.
"Sir John Kierlaw: Now. Some fool has invented an indestructible cloth. Where is he? How much does he want?"

Dupont probably wanted us to believe that, but I don't think so. Maybe some derivative of kryptonite ...? Actually, I don't remember if the name of the material came up in the movie.
