Does anything 'big' actually land at the base these days? or is it just a very long straight bit of ground?

The B-52 bombers do practice landings all the time (the USAF doesn't have to pay $10,000 every time like they do everywhere else), and whenever the President (of the US, of course) comes to this area the 747 lands there, and the space shuttle landed there a few years ago.
