ToyBox - you've really damaged my brain now! smiley - laugh

it's an interesting article but you lost me at around P and P'

I'll come back to this, though, I won't be beaten by geometry!

Agreed, lovely entry!

Tell me, can geometry illustrate the golden ratio? Is this why it's beautiful?

Or why not!
smiley - cheers
I was really enjoying it, even imagined I understood some of it, until it took a turn toward algebra where I have prejudicially negative feelings because I know I just don't get it. But up to that point (points are only as imaginary as the lines they are on) I was doing fine.

imaginary numbers are what lost me when I was doing my maths A-level. It has all been downhill from there!

It's funny, elgebra I dont have so much of a problem with, trig I cannot fathom under any circumstances. I always liked pythag too.. Cant remember it, but I like it!

yes. Tan. Thank you. or was it...(I still have the calculator I used in the 6th form - if only I'd looked there I'd not have written my previous post...)

But now I'm reminded of calculus and I need a lie down

steady Sho! Steady there... It's ok, you wanna try loving maths but not being able to keep the numbers still!

nope - I don't want to try loving maths. Since the i numbers maths and I are history.

Although I sometimes pine for the heady days when i approached calculus with no fear, the equation of a circle wasn't just gobbledygook and Trig wasn't a character out of Only Fools and Horses.

But it wasn't meant to be.
(the big fat F on my A-level results is also a bit of a giveaway!)
