One nitpicky observation:
"The jump itself is a one thousand feet high section of cliff"
should instead be "one thousand feet wide", no?
Anyways, it's always nice to see a bit of home here on H2G2!

Bloody sub-editor! I wrote ' The Jump itself is a one thousand foot section of cliff that has a consistent vertical drop of near forty feet.'

Well, thanks for that, but I've been waiting on tenterhooks for a resolution for so long that they've become fleshed over and I'll have to have them surgically removed. You ought to see to this sort of thing in a more timely manner!
