A Conversation for Fun Things To Do With Macaroni

I can't resist, even though it's not using the actual macaroni. This site, http://www.pack-o-fun.com/projects/purse.htm, was brought to my attention recently by my 20 year-old daughter. She said it looked like something I would have thought up for a Brownie meeting way back in her grade school years. Which brings back another fond memory...
12 or so years back, one of my Brownies gave me a mug for Christmas with a harried woman on it fussing with all sorts of crafts items. The caption reads "I'm too busy being creative to think about housework." Since the troop met in my house, I have never been sure if the mug was a subtle comment on my housekeeping "skills" But I still have it, and it still makes me smile.
Thanks for the memory!

When I was a kid my mother kept us busy during school hols with all sorts of, um, projects. One particular one, during the holidays leading up to Christmas, was making Christmas tree decorations out of pasta and silver milk bottle tops (squashed flat).
We threaded a bottle top onto some string, then a couple of lenghts of pasta tubing, and kept alternating this until about a foot long.
We had the daggiest Christmas tree I've ever seen!!!!!

I also watsted many hours threading milk bottle lids together along with paper chains made with many strips of coloured paper into hoops and connecting them together myself and my brother used to compete against each other to see who could make the longest and it got beyond the joke as we would sit for hours on end linking paper for no reason at all.
What a childhood i had...

Ah, yes! The paper chains! We used to make them too. Ours were made out of newspaper!!!!! I think my mother must have been brought up in the depression or something. Oh well. If you're going to have a macaroni-covered christmas tree you may as well also have a newspaper-decorated ceiling!
Sigh. Thems were the days (not!)

There was also the fun at Primary School, sticking dried pasta onto paper to make pictures *sighs* yep, them were the days...
