As someone who lives in Chelt, I make the following comments.
1) the Gold Cup seems to have been held in March for the past 2 years.
2) you've not mentioned GCHQ being located here.
3) it's the home of the awesome "Spike Doctors" volleyball team.
Maybe you could these at your convenience.

Anyone remember the old adage - criticism of others is criticism of self?

I've never heard that, but it's how I've been living my life for the last few months. (I had a turnaround..revelations.. all very cool. and I love Cheltenham.)

Wow that’s 5 people from sunny old Cheltenham that I know here (me included).
The next h2g2 gathering should be here (obviously the community center of h2g2, well ignoring London cos that doesn’t count)
I like Cheltenham, having spent my entire 19 years living here. Yeah it’s boaring but then again so am I so we get along perfectly. What’s most annoying is the b***y road works that continue for ever an only make the raods harder to drave around. Arg. Oh and of course the weather (note, twice this week end it’s been lovely. So I go outside toy stat a bonfire (luckily no animals on it) and it goes and starts tipping down.)
And to the first message in this forum, 1) why no mention of GCHQ.
Well that is because it’s top sercret. Were not aloowed to talk about it, being government communication head quarters and all. I mean the title is in leters so we don’t know what it stands for…. shhh…
And I like the old building, but only because my father worked there.
