I am sorry you found Gloucester people less than welcoming. On the whole we are a very welcoming city and proud of our heritage .It is true there are some very old families who have lived in Gloucester for centuries, my own being one of them but to say that you would only want to live here if you were retired is completely misguided. Maybe you have visited us from a larger city and find our quieter lifelstyle a little sedate . I can completely understand your viewpoint but please don't judge us by your own standards . We have a wealth of culture to share and are only too happy to do so with anyone who would like to visit.
