A Conversation for Fountain Pens

Fine-liners. I love them. Fountain pens are, though very stylish, also very messy if you're a scribbler like i am. Ballpoints aren't as delicate in their typography, as said in the article itself.
The fine-liner combines the safety of the ballpoint with the grace of the fountain pen. Fineliner fineliner rah rah rah!

Being a dedicated fountain pen user for some 20 years or so, I must agree that fineliners are quite nice to write with, but nothing still beats the joy of using a well tuned fountain pen... especially an antique one in top condition. The only problem is that there seems to be a difference in the ink formulations from those used when the pens were first around as the modern inks, in some antique pens, just seems to want to run back out the moment that the pen is put into the writing position... oh well... such is life and the price of dedication to the cause of the fountain pen
Cheers.

Any recommendations for a good make?
Since school days, I've enjoyed using a fountain pen, and have always used a cheap brand (Osmiroid) because of the way the soft nib wears down - eventually a polished flat spot develops so that the pen writes with a nice broad line, while gliding across the pen. Only trouble is, this takes a while to wear in, is impossible for anybody else to use, and the cheapness of the pen means it doesn't last very long. I find I can't get that nice line from any other make.
