Well written article! Just to make you laugh, all of the props in the magician's caboose were owned by a retired professor from the college that I went to, Dr Talley. I hung out with his grandson, Ryan, who can remember playing with the clown that hangs in the foreground. Young Indy's house is in a small town about 20 miles from Alamosa and the train is part of the Cumbres-Toltec line, a historic railroad that my grandfather helped to fund. Pretty cool, eh?
On a more topical note, do they still let folks climb on the arches? I remember that there was a fuss over that because people were damaging them by not being careful. It upset me greatly, because I've always wanted to climb there.
