A Conversation for Fortean
Is there anyone out there

As previously mentioned the arrogance of man (read also woman and inbetweens)hinders our perception of our role and position within the greater scheme of things. We are hindered by science and lack of knowledge. The bible was and still is for many the 'answer', but then again so is the Fortean times for some.
I much prefer to live in happy ignorance and look forward to the day when the silver saucer descends from the clouds and a being steps forth and declares that they are our long lost gods. It worked for the spaniards in south america a while back.
But isnt there some satisfaction in the old hippy (probably not the originators) idea of the entire universe as we percieve it being a micro scopic speck of old toothpaste in the drain hole of a couple from croyden, rather appeals dont you think?
sorry for joining the conversation late.

Hey, it's good to pick up on this conversation again. Bit of a coincidence really as they were discussing UFOs on the radio this morning. Debating whether or not they exist. Of course they exist. UFO is Unidentified flying Object. Not alien space craft. Once it's identified, it is no longer a UFO. Okay I'm being pedantic, but it annoys me whenever someone asks if I believe in UFOs. Meaning do I believe that alien spacecraft have visited earth. That I'm not sure about, but there are plenty of UFOs around (until they're identified that is.)
Yes, the toothpaste speck theory is much more appealing.

Does this mean then, that when something has been identified it gets really boring?
Oh and Ive thought about the toothpaste bit a little more.Wouldnt life be minty fresh if it were tootpaste, and not the crud like smell that you get on the tube?

Usually once something is identified it is really boring, yes. Hub-caps, secret stealth aircraft. All incredibly dull.
Oh, to have a minty fresh life! That would be wonderful. No more putting up with the foul smells that humans tend to make. Unfortunately if we are that speck of toothpaste on the basin, then it is probably crud. Explains a lot about life, really.

Your right - but this then begs the question:
the hub caps you see on the side of the road - does anyone ever comeback to collect them?

Sadly, I'm afraid the answer is yes. My uncle used to have a huge collection of them, which he gave to my dad, who sold them at a car-boot sale. They sold really well actually.
My relatives are very strange.
