A modified version of Hot Desking is the one at my place of work: You may have a desk you call home, which has all your "stuff" in it, but you have to share that desk with two other shifts and may have to wait for someone to go home before you can set up to work. Also, there may not be enough desks for everyone to have their own, so someone (usually the newest person) has to work at whatever desk might be free.
