The asterism that we recognize as the Big Dipper is the most easily recognized group of stars in the Northern Hemisphere, however the entire constellation of Ursa Major is not. Many consider Orion to be the most recognized constellation. (However, by the same coin, many who recognize Orion do not include his bow.)
