Interesting entry and I visited the community website, but still don't know how big the village is! How many houses, how many people?

I wouldn't go so far as to call this a gaping omission ... but I'd like to know, living in a village myself - it would be interesting to be able to compare facilities against population.

I think I've been working in local government too long!

The village has a decent number of houses - I'd say between 250 and 1000 - but I'm never very good at estimating things like that.

I believe that Blofield has an average number of shops and amenities for a village of its size, and that readers should hopefully be able to gauge the size of the village from the details given.

I admit that I have left some details out, but I only live in Blofield, and would find it difficult to provide all the facts without some serious hard work.

I can however provide you with a few facts which you might find helpful when it comes to getting an idea of size:
The Primary School, which all the children in the village between ages 4 and 11 attend, has about 30 children in each of its seven classes (one class for each 'year' or 'grade').
Also, about 30 children from each year between ages 11 and 16 attend a Secondary School in the surrounding area, and all travel by bus.
The village is on the brink of being marked with the brown 'built up area' colour on road maps, and appears as such on some road maps and as little house symbols on others.

I'm afraid that's the best I can do...

But you have actually answered my question - I can make a guess from the class sizes. And if I ever make it to that part of the world, I'll make sure I get out of the car and count all the houses ...
