A Conversation for Deer Season

Great article on the madness of hunting and hunters. We have the same problem here in Northern Ontario. My issue has and always will be the fact that for two weeks of every year anybody with a gun will walk all over your property because they think it's some 'God' given right of theirs. I feel like I'm being invaded by some simple minded militia! When is it ever O.K. for a deluge of humans with firearms to converge on private property?

The spirit of hunting is well summed up in the Tom Lehrer Hunting song -
"I went and shot the maximum that the game laws would allow,
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow"

they justify hunting by saying that those deer would starve to death if hunters didn't thin out their numbers. but conservationists are reintroducing elk (a much larger animal) into these habitats. so where's the logic? (i live in ontario, canada) smiley - fish@
