A Conversation for Islands and How They are Made
These have always fascinated me.

Islands, yes, these have always fascinated me from childhood on, but I hardly visited these.
At Dutch TV. we had a program for many years; (translated)"The World of Boudewijn Büch" and he (died a few years ago, 55) had many fascinations, from books to Napoleon, from the Rolling Stones to Islands.
In a series about Islands he visited a lot of these, just for the sake of seeing it by himself; just for having been there once.
Ugly Islands -flat, green and only óne house - beautiful paradise Islands (where he met a man who just had returned from Rotterdam as a sailor!), Islands around Cuba, etc. etc.
He had that curiosity of a child; don't think, just feel and find out.
Yes, his visits compensated a lot of "Island visits" I'd like to do.
Often, an island is not that magical at all, but even that can be an experience that I would not want to have missed.
Last year I bought a big book about Islands and choral reefs all around the world, and also a book about all countries from the world.
So page after page, island after Island I studied and made marks at a map.
"Diving, The World's Coral Reefs"
Having seen and sometimes even studied these Islands, I started to paint free style as my answer, or just reaction to it all.
You can see some at " Gallery 42, the venue for h2g2 artistic offerings."
