A Conversation for The Boo Radleys - the Band

Just had to leap to this fantastic album's defence. The mixing style is a little fuzzy, but when you considerMartin and Sice wanted to be the bastard offspring of the Beatles, Beachboys, Dinosaur Jr and My Bloody Valentine, it could have not worked at all. And what's so wrong with feedback! Not having a dig, but the sheer beauty of this album is the fact that if you listen to it on headphones, the textures created by the seemingly incohate noise work with the voice, not against it. And let's face it, Sice is no Robert Plant in the air-raid-siren-larynx-department is he? Oh yeah, having heard Ichabod and I, I'm not bloody surprised it's deleted! Now I like my incoherent noise more than most, but bloody hell - it made my eyes bleed!

I'm with you on this. Everything's Alright... is great and I love the way it sounds. This was the era of the shoegazers after all (Ride, MBV, Spacemen 3) and that's what the Boos were after. That wall of guitar sound on Room At The Top is just lovely.
