The Tail At Either End

I was born it seems with a tail at either end

A short and stubby one here and a longer one that bends

I can waggle one quite nicely, wave it to and fro

But my other tail is longer, I wonder if the shorter one will grow

I can reach and pick up things with one which does seem rather strange

But the shorter of the two is silly as things are always out of range

It seems my mother and my father are both afflicted thus

And also the rest of my family so I can hardly cause a fuss

So it seems I won't grow out of it, my two tails will always be dissimilar

I shall just grin and bear it, and the odd lengths will maybe one day become familiar
