h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I admit I have not lived anywhere else more than a year, but Richmond is a nice place to live. One of its nicest features is its lack of traffic. The natives think they have traffic, but they are talking about moving vehicles, and that does not count. Some parts of town are getting a bit congested, but thats just to make it feel more like home to all the transplanted yankees.
Another great thing about Richmond is what is near enough to visit for the day or weekend:
Virginia Beach (110 miles)
Washington D.C. (100 miles)
Colonial Williamsburg (30 miles)
Blue Ridge mountains and Skyline Drive (2 to 3 hours, depending on where you go)
Outer Banks of North Carolina (150 miles?)
Paramount's king's Dominion (25 miles)
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (50 miles)
Mount Vernon
Monticello
Lots of colonial era plantations
All distances are appoximate.
The big concerts usualy come to DC, and its not so far.
The weather is hot in the summer, cold in the winter, unlike Florida, but there is not much snow. there is just enough to be fun when it comes.
In short, Richmond is big enough without being too much of a big city. People who come here from DC usualy love it. If you come you may have trouble finding a native to talk about it!
