Isn't it simply a matter of making a list of all the things you don't know yet, and then steadily working your way through the list, finding them all out?
You just have to be systematic about these things.

Save the rain forests! Don't follow this person's advice! Heed mine instead! Eat cheese-covered french fries (chips in Britain, I think) to save the world! Listen to Nirvana! Don't try to know everything! Or just put it all on a web site, that just takes up hard drive space!
BTW, if you don't know something, how can you know you don't know it? Or is that just ignorance?
