I am not sure how putting balm on your silver nose lead to the beginning of alchemy but, ok.
Very interesting bit about his death. I had heard that no one could get up from the table to relieve themselves until the king (or whoever was in charge of the banquet) got up and since the head guy had bad kidneys, he never got up.
Anyway, great article.
