Jerky is one of those items well known but totally unavailable this side of the pond. The closest alternative I can think of is Pepperami - and I imagine you'd get a an odd look if you offered a bit to a stranger, due to your fiery garlic meat breath.

Hmmmmmm...I've never heard of that. I think I may like to try it sometime. You and some other people that have replied to this entry have some rather interesting information related to jerky. Maybe you should confer with them and you could all write a big update to add more detail to the article (?). I think that would be pretty groovy myself.
