great article. I hadn't heard about this. Although I think violence against women has gotten better, it's still a big issue being a woman at an engineering school. There's a poster up in the hall of the chem dept:
percent female in chemistry:
53% undergrad
35% grad
9% professor

yes, it is a big issue. It is certainly a problem that people here are much more aware of than they used to be.
