New series in September

I went to see a couple of the shows being recorded for the next series, which was great fun . Can't really give any more details as they may be regarded as spoilers. However, I can report they have to record about two and a half hours of material to get each show. Apparently it is scheduled for broadcast in September.

There are not any recordings at the moment - they are made months in advance. You can get tickets for other BBC programmes at http://www.bbc.co.uk/whatson/tickets/

Hi could you tell me how you aquired tickets for QI, was it just through the BBC tickets service and if so how did you know when to look.
Thank you very much,
A fellow QI fan.

QI is not actually a BBC production - I think it's TalkBack.
I have just seen that the next series is being recorded in May and you can get tickets by registering at www.applausestore.com
They will send you out tickets after you confirm a booking once booking actually opens i.e. they have actual dates (well, this is what they did last year). However, you are not guaranteed entry if you get tickets (as they're free, people often reequest too many, so they have to overbook) and need to go and queue for at least an hour before the doors open outside the studio. Same applies to most BBC shows too.
The BBC tickets are just pot luck what is being recorded really - they don't really announce in advance.
Hope that helps

QI has now started recording for Series 3, but there are ten episodes left to record that you can attend (until the end of June). As scrumph says, the best place to book your (free) tickets is applausestore. The show starts at 7 to 7:30, and records until about 9:15. It's an excruciatingly funny evening out, but demand is very high!
