A Conversation for Tips on Anger Management
Swearing in the car

A teacher of mine once made this suggestion: when suffering from road rage, try shouting "hey, STUPID!" in as thick a stereotypical New York cabbie accent as you can manage. The initial shouting helps release the tension, and the inevitable hilarity of what you have just done helps you to forget whatever it was you were angry about. It's both entirely appropriate to the situation, and totally ludicrous.
Note: if you are actually from New York, try to find a reasonable alternative.

I do tend to swear quite a lot in the car - and it relieves the flash-point of stressful situations.
However - beware - make sure you don't forget there's someone else in the car with you. A seven year old making comments on your vocabulary is a deeply embarrassing and shameful thing.
