A Conversation for Bamboo

Very informative! I might add that I've heard running bamboo can be controlled by digging ditches at the edges of the growth and filling them with water; apparently they dont grow well near alot of water.
Also, clumping bamboo grows wild and in gardens all over Austin and central Texas. Not sure what particular kind, mainly it's about an inch in diameter and 10-12 ft high, although there are companies nearby that grow a variety, including large plants which are a black color and huge varieties up to a foot in diameter. I use the wild plants for flutes; they have such a beautiful sound!

- Bamboo plant in my garden is at least 15 years old and was moved about 10 years ago. Overwinter it has flowered (for the first time) and produced seeds. There are now no leaves on it. Has anyone else a similar plant? It would be interesting to compare [1]
