This is a scene that reminds you that Buffy lives in the real world, it's not all demons and vampires but at the end of the day it is all about death. Usually when Buffy includes elements of the real world it isn't pleasant and this was no exception. However there was a consolation in the fact that Buffy made Cassie's death more bearable, she wasn't murdered, she died knowing someone cared enough to try and help (Honestiago)
