Nice entry!
Though I wish to point out two inaccuracies: first, there is no more Lighter Side, Dave Berg having passed away last year or so ; second, Mad Magazine does have non-satirical adverts, though it seems to be a rather recent (and as far as I could see, controversial) change.

You are correct on both counts
but I seem to recall a well placed "was" or "were" somewhere in the lead paragragh. I could be wrong though ***shrungs***
Mad XL (what used to be Mad Super Special) has Dave Berg stuff still
