A Conversation for Jammie Dodgers

What is it about 'sandwich'-style biscuits that causes most people to pull them apart and eat them in sections? Perhaps the jam was added to the Jammie Dodger to weld the two halves together and so protect them against such attacks smiley - winkeye

Ah, but the true art of pulling these lovely treats apart is to be able to separate the two halves of the cookie with all the lovely cream staff being on the cookie without the hole, and the other cookie just having the jammie bit. I think I've accomplished this stellar feat once, at age twelve. It took years of practice on Oreo cookies just to get the two sides apart with all the creamy stuff exclusively on one side.

It's not just biscuits though, is it? Certain chocolate bars are just as compelling - the need to slowly bite away the chocolate around the edges of a Kit Kat to reveal the wafer biscuit beneath (always in the hope you'll get a huge section of pure, unadulterated chocolate at one end), the sheer pleasure in eating a Twix layer by layer, and getting double helpings too, also Double Deckers (tho' I'm not so keen on that nougat stuff). There's bound to be some Freudian explanation for it - women, chocolate etc. - but I really don't care! Perhaps there should be a national league table for chocolate enjoyment through dissection...

i'm pleased to see that the word 'biscuit' doesn't immediately imply gravy and scone-like buns, here. that was almost a horrible misunderstanding as i tried to imagine the ghastly spectre of pouring gravy over shortbread

what i had intended to mention, however, was TIMTAMS!

widely regarded as heaven-sent, this ambrosia consists of two chocolate iscuits, sandwiched around chocolate cream filling, and then covered with chocolate. yes, it sounds like a sugar overload, but they're actually less sickly than oreos (imho, of course).

i thought my lady friend was about to orgasm when she had her first one. so i gave her 8 packets smiley - smiley
