As the Coventry ringroad slip roads are both used for entry and exit, people will want to cross in front of you and behind you, whilst you want to pass in front of them, and ofcourse behind them. Most resort to panic on their first encounter with these slip roads.
Don't panic. There is an answer.
Focus on missing the car in front of you, and let the car behind you worry about missing you. Don't be tempted to check your mirror, as you will almost certainly fail to notice the car in front of you braking.
This technique has worked well for 10 years or so, for me.

Also ensure you are travelling at 40mph the speed limit, both on the ring road and the slip raod. It is the one peice of UK road I know were everyone obeys the speed limit.
