Thanks - I learned from this. 
I'm figuring out when it is ok (or not) to post links, but the Web 2.0 youtube clip called The Machine is Us/Using Us shows off exactly that sideways interconnectivity and collaboration you mention: not only among users, but also between us and the technology itself.
