Why is it that the people who make the wrapped sandwiches for vending in service stations and other outlets assume that tomatoes are an almost obligatory constituent - at least of those with any salad content? Ham & tomato, chicken and tomato etc. Usually the presence of the wretched things is so taken for granted that its presence isn't even mentioned on the label. So if I buy a cheese and lettuce sandwich I have to spend time removing the nasty things.

Anyone like tomato sandwiches? Tomato slices, white bread, lots of mayo, salt and pepper. YUM YUM!
