According to the Sunday Times this week, Doctor Who holds the official world record for the longest series of books written about a single character, with over 250 titles currently published.
Also the little tit-bit that the New Series authors are paid £5,000 per book, with an unspecified bonus for sales of over 50,000 copies which is 'about average' for the range.
