No mention of Tom & Jerry?
I can't believe it?
The cartoon to end all cartoons, and copied in The Simpsons even with periodic showings of lisa and barts favourite cartoon (can't remember what it's called).
Who can forget the shape changing properties of Tom? Hit in the face by a frying pan carrying Jerry, his face became a carbon copy of the shape of the frying pan. Yes it was violent, but it was Violence with Attitude (comic, that is).
And the cute little duck who couldn't fly?
Which brings me to other greats such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky the Pig, even.
Oh shame, shame researchers that you missed those out!

In defence of Ginger et al,
This article was a 'collaboration'. For weeks people were posting their own 'favourites' to a forum on the page. The page itself was flagged up on the h2g2 front page for quite a while as an article that needed collaborators.
This article (like all Approved Guide Entries) can still be amended, appended, even deleted.
If you want to research and write some fine words about Tom & Jerry or Itchy & Scratchy or whatever, then why not create a new discussion about them by clicking the 'Discuss' button in the goo at the side of the 'Cartoons' main page.
I'm sure Ginger would be happy to consider submitting extensions to the article after a few weeks. Go on. Help it grow

I doubt it - they don't sell Pinky and the Brain either - another classic - just all the modern rubbish like Johnny Bravo, Powder Puff girls and I Am Weasal.

Man, loony tunes were the days. That kind of humor, if made by artist nowadays, would probably be considered radical.
But that was classic entertainment. Falling anvils, people exploding, or how they can't fall till they look down and see no ground benith them and give a meek wave goodbye to the audiance. Yup! Them days are gone.
