Not meaning any respect to Frank Sinatra, but "They all laughed" was George and Ira Gershwin's song. It was written for Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers' film "Shall we dance," 1937.

Do you mean disrespect to Mr Sinatra? 
I worked myself into a tizzy because I thought that someone might come along and tell me that half of my entry is wrong (I used reliable sources, but I'm a worrier!) and you're just concerned about the opening quote? 
Well, we have the whole weekend.

My error. I should have said, "Not meaning any disrespect to Mr. Sinatra."
It's just that I love the Astaire-Roger movies, and I thought Fred Astaire had done the definitive rendition of that song. 
I have no other quibbles with your article. There was a humorous treatment of Columbus in the comedy recording "When you're in love, the whole world is Jewish," which had a song ("Things might have been different") with a verse about Columbus. That verse went something like this:
In fourteen hundred and ninety-two,
Columbus made a voyage with a Spanish-speaking crew.
The shores of Puerto Rico were all that Chris could reach,
But if his crew were Jewish, they'd have reached Miami Beach.
(Miami Beach has/had a large Jewish population, you see)
