Indeed! At it's best, wrestling is the some of the finest improvised theatre you will ever see.
Of course, at its worst, it's just two old blokes slapping each other.

After becoming semi-addicted to observing the antics on the World Wrestling Federation shows, I've come to the conclusion that these shows are a way of making it socially acceptable for men to watch soap operas. It's sometimes quite amusing to see these enormous men constantly shifting alliances, plotting against each other, and coming to blows against a rather unsubtle backdrop of Good vs. Evil. Women are props (unless they're one of the burly strongwomen) to be fought over. Throughout all this, the men lumber around carrying their HUGE metal championship belts with them everywhere. They can't actually _wear_ them, though; if they were to forget themselves and bend at the waist while wearing said belts, they'd simultaneously give themselves a sharp jab in the groin and rupture any number of organs in their abdominal cavity.

But I still like watching the stuff.

Wrestling IS NOT Fake. People actually die and I have seen the funerals. I have been watching it longer than the lot of you . I have seen people die, blees, break bones, injure them selves severely and be set on fire. And if it was all fake how come it gets four million viewers every episode?

Some minor points:

a) Only one person, the one who wrote the initial article, said that the whole thing was fake. Most people are aware that the injuries are very real. The plot and the rivalries, etc., however, are more often than not fake. Professional wrestlers will tell you that themselves.

b) You have no way of knowing whether or not you've been watching wrestling longer than the "lot of us," now, is there?

Well, it's not _entirely_ fake, but it's more fake than it appears. Consider the movie stuntman - sure, they get hurt... but not as much as the movie would have you believe.

And as to your other question (why would four million people watch if it were fake)... how many people saw "Titanic'? That was _completely_ fake. Or "Star Wars" - that was even more fake, since it wasn't based on history.
