(I've told this before, but ...) On our trip to London in '99 (from the US) my wife & I got interested in cricket, especially since the World Cup was underway. Having watched part of a match during the day, I asked at the pub that evening if the waiter knew the score. He said, "Who cares? I'm going home to watch the Yankees."
I understand the big soccer team in the UK (Manchester?) has partnered with the Yankees to market their respective products. Go with what works, I guess ...
