Whereabouts in Spain??? Usually tapas seem to be small accompaniers with beer or wine whihc you can get either very cheapily or even for free in Spain!

There is not the same custom over tapas in the whole Spain. In Madrid, usually you get a small tapa when you buy a beer, or wine. If you go to Granada, tapas are huge. In Almeria as well. They don´t give you free tapas at Seville or Cadiz, for instance. Of course you can buy them anywhere, and usually for a very cheap price. The range is enormous, so... just go there and ask.
